Legos - Part 1

Legos
We love them
Little pieces, bright colors
(just don't let them fall on the floor!)

We decided to embark on a lego building odyssey
over spring break.

Star Wars being the theme.
I was surprised by the response we received from folks.
Everyone wanted to come and build.
OK!
I can do that.
(A Star Wars lego building party!)

We started with a Coast Guard ship. I know,  not
Star Wars, we needed a warm up. :)

This was the weekend before spring break.

Once my daughter returned
from college, the kids built the Millennium Falcon.

The kids had a blast. This was all in preparation for the following
weekend and the Death Star, all 3803 pieces!!
The party was just getting started..........

Come back and see the fun!

Mothers and Daughters

Such an interesting bond.
And so very different from mothers and sons.

I am lucky enough to have one of each. I love each so
very much and so differently. The needs are different.

Mothers and Daughters ~
Love, joy, struggle, fierce pride, heartache,
and then, if we are lucky, friendship.

I had the pleasure of shooting this mother and daughter. You can
tell from their interactions that they are close.

This last one is significant.
Olivia was the youngest.
As a tribute, they both had her name tattoo'd on their ankles.
It was very important, for me,
to include her on this day.

What is your relationship like with your mother or daughter? Are you
lucky enough to be able to call her your friend?

Season Opener

It's that time again!  Baseball Season!

And with that comes spring.
So, so very welcome. This has been a wonderful, snowy winter
(I do love the snow)

But, with snow forecast for Tuesday and it being
the middle of March, I am more than ready for the sun,
new flowers, warmer temps and short sleeves!

My son has played since he was small and is now
in high school playing JV as well as playing on another
team. Double practices, double games.....but the joy on his
face is contagious and absolutely worth the price of admission.
(warning, picture heavy!)

Our coach!

Do you see what I mean, that smile!

With the return of warmer temperatures and
being outdoors, what is top on your list?

Trust and Faith

Interesting words to start a photography post with
wouldn't you say?  Yet they are so important, in everything we do.

This shoot was such fun. Mom had shared that her youngest was
a tough cookie to get to stand still and that her oldest would be a charm
to work with. She was right on both points, and I had a blast!

She trusted that I would get it right
and I had the faith in my ability to connect.

So captivating! Motion and all.

The older one.

Can you say heartbreaker??

My ability to connect with both paid off!

I am so grateful for the trust my clients give me.
So grateful.

So, where do you find your faith and trust?

Welcome!

Welcome to my space.

I have decided to follow my heart and camera and take pictures! For fun and as a business. Why? You ask. It fills my heart in a way that nothing else has. I mean, I am married to the most wonderful man and have two children whom I adore. But this was different.  I feel as though I found my creative side later in life. For those of you who found it early, you rock!

Listening to the angst folks have around having pictures taken, my not worrying, and then being able to share the end results ~ divine! To have clients say that they LOVE their pictures, that I have captured the "real them", there is nothing like that. Pure joy in my heart.

Like this beautiful woman. She wanted a new head shot. Took me forever to get a real smile. But look!

And this family - they stole my heart!
(ok, bad moment with the kids)

And these two - mom told me that they never get along, the younger is ALWAYS goofing off.  I explained that I have this, no worries.

And, as this is a space for both personal and professional, here are a few personal shots that also make my heart sing.

What about you? What is it that makes your heart sing?
